Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31
From my recollection of incidences in the past, I have had some trying and pressing days. But it was worth every second of it, honestly. I mean there were times I was ready to throw in the towel, however I recall, when talking with my mother, I opened up the window into my thinking process and encouraged myself to preserver.
I thought about running on a treadmill or elliptical and how when you first start your workout, you tell yourself I am going to go for 30 minutes. For the first couple of minutes, you are pumped. You got your music playing, energy exploring out of your body. Things are great. Now eight minutes has passed and you been going hard, with no breaks. So now the fatigue is starting to creep in. You start rearranging plans and bargaining with yourself by saying, “Well I will just try making it to 20 minutes” even though you know that for the best workout you need to finish the session by the full 30 minutes. Here comes 12 minutes. By now you have literally made up your mind, “Oh Yes, I can only do 20! I can’t make it pass that, I can barely make it to 20!” So you have already limited your abilities before even seeing how your body and mind is going to feel when 20 minutes come around.
OHHH BUTTT once 15 minutes comes by, something happens, there a striking of importance of completion that hits your spirit. You start saying, “Well I’m half way there, and I might be able to make it to at least 25 minutes.” Then when you hit 20 minutes, you keep going because you realize, “Oh it’s not that bad. It hurts but I am starting to like the feeling of my body perspiring, causing all of the infirmities to begin to pour out of my pores.” Then when you hit 25 minutes, you find out that you are regaining even more strength then you did when you first start going. By this time, you have found your rhythm, your own style that keeps you in the game. AND WHEN YOU HIT 30…CAN’T ANYBODY STOP YOU!!! You stronger, you feel rejuvenated, you feel refreshed, you feel confident, and you are ready for anything. And the only thing left to do is to go home, take a shower so that all of the impurities can be washed away and your body can be cleansed; then afterwards, replenishing your body with water and nutrients.
So you and I are going to be a team together on this new plan. This is how we are going to approach our individual spiritual daily walks with Jesus. We’re going to press in, press through, and press out through EVERY situation where God is trying to build up our spiritual muscle. We are not going for a quick fix diet plan, we want a solid and dependable change to our diet where we wake up with God, walk through the day with God, eat with God, talk with God, laugh with God, cry with God, and sleep with God. He is going to be our daily bread; and this workout/diet plan will never fail us. It make sense that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we might as well have our daily bread of the word of God. So ask yourself, what am I digesting in the morning, God’s plan or my own worldly agenda?
John 6: 48,51 I am the bread of life. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will live for the life of the world
