“We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:  Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” (1 John 2:3-6)

It’s important to know who God is and the purpose He has in your life. Learning how to digest and keep His commands in your heart teaches you more about who God is, therefore opening up your heart to your purpose in life; YOUR IDENTITY. Being truthful to God and yourself is making the first steps to enjoying a rewarding life. My testimony of perseverance in learning how to love myself reminds me of a saying of, ” how am I supposed to love others if I do not know how to love myself? Furthermore, how am I supposed to learn how to love myself if I do not love God; and how am I supposed to love God if I do not take time out to know God and the reality of His power?” To me, this is truly the most important concept in understanding and benefiting to the Christian, spiritual walk.

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”(Matthew 22:37-41, NKJV)

When you understand the importance of God’s love and comprehend the value of what He has put inside of you, you can live like your in heaven while here on earth by exploring the riches of your inheritance, and start tapping into finding yourself. God loves when we seek Him out to understand our identity and the core of our being. I was listening to Joyce Meyers one day and she said, “God made us to be uniquely different for a purpose. If He took the time to make sure that the designation of our fingerprints and DNA structure would not match any other person, then do you think He created you by accident?” So have confidence in knowing who you are and what God has done inside of you is not by accident. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. (Psalm 139:14 NIV)

DON’T LIVE YOUR LIFE IN VAIN BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO AFRAID TO FIND YOURSELF IN GOD. Earnestly seek to know who God is. He showed us the most important demonstration of His love and faith in us by not allowing us to perish but to have eternal life. He sent Jesus to save us from the turmoil of this world so that we can finish the work that is inside of us. ” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV)
