How many of you are running out of energy? How many of you have been moving full speed ahead with work, school, kids, bills, so on and so on that you didn’t even realize you were tired or had built up anxiety until someone asked you, “Are you ok?” This was me a few days ago! Naturally we are so use to moving like the Duracell Bunny and pilling on all the stresses on our back that eventually we get weighed down. However, there is source of power that can give you the boost you need! It is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is to comfort, guide, and remind us of His word. So how do we get filled with the Holy Spirit on a daily basis? It is already within us when we have receive Jesus as our Lord and savior! The Holy Spirit becomes our power source of energy that seeps within our body, fills us up with His power and is our strength when we are weak.
This imagery reminds me of those Gatorade commercials with the tag line “Gatorade, Is it In You?” Ha! When we are created new within the body of Christ it is like being a child all over again. The wonderful thing about being a “child of God”, is that He has the ability of giving us energy like a “child.” [Have you notice children have all this energy? ..they run around and act as if they have just ate full bag of candy…everyday! And you ask yourself, where do they get all this energy from?] When we have the Holy Spirit within us – someone should be able to look at your life and ask: Where do they get all that energy from?! And here’s where the witnessing comes in and you can say: By God’s power! God’s power gives us the strength to say the right words; whether it’s through a speaking engagement or how to talk to your enemies, OR the strength to endure tests during school or the daily stresses of life (ie. money, transitions, turning points, etc). There is nothing to hard for God!
So you say, eh, I’m getting old and my physical body just doesn’t allow me to move the way I use to. So does this mean I’m not filled with the Holy Spirit? Absolutely not, our physical bodies won’t go to heaven and be in the kingdom of god; however, our spirit will so that’s why we must keep God in our hearts and let him rule over not only in the natural (physical body) but also in the spiritual! This means praying for discernment, wisdom, spiritual warfare, and so on. If you are in your waiting period for God to change your circumstances it says in Acts 1:7-8, “it is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” God is asking us to trust Him and not worry about “when” he will do what he promises, or try to figure things out on our own; but he is asking us to be prepared that “when” he changes our circumstances that we would be willing vessels to witness about what he has done! 1 Thessalonians 5:17-19 says, “pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Pray for God to fill you with His presence daily and “thank God in advance” and thank God after he does what He says he will do!
So like the Gatorade commercial we ask you: The Holy Spirit, Is it in You?
