“When you cry, and you cannot figure out the reason why…”
Have you ever felt like those words before? You strive so hard to be a “good christian,” you pray, read the Word, go to church, you try to seperate yourself of the wordly things but then something happens that makes you feel like you’re right back where you started? It could be an ex-boy/girlfriend that texts you in the middle of the night asking you to come over, old friendships you tried to let loose invites you to “the party of the year”? [By the way, Have you noticed every week club promoters say “This one will be epic!?”] and in your state of vulnerability or boredom you entertain that invite or text. Then, just like that, you have put yourself in a situation you end up regretting and now you are kicking yourself because of that “impulse” decision. The devil finds these times of “opportunity” to start putting Guilt into your heart telling you “You’ll never be good enough” or “See I knew you wasn’t who you say you are!” However, there is a scripture that relieves you of that guilt and that is, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Isn’t that wonderful? That if we sin, by Gods’ grace we can be forgiven?! That’s why I love this song “When You Fall, ” because it explains that whatever circumstance that has made you drop your head out of disappointment for yoursef, it recognizes that we all have our state of vulnerability or have had hiccups in life. Even in the bible it says in Isiah 53:6, We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. God is a God that doesn’t take his love away because of our mistakes, His love for us remains still and sometimes that is just the encouraging word we need to hear.
Understand that we are human and “slip ups” do happen, people are going to lurer you in of the wordly things and even may say hurtful things towards us because they will start to see a change within us, but don’t get sad or sulk; for when this happens get excited. Yes excited that you are recognizing his tactics of: Disbelief, discouragement, low self esteem, failure, guilt, regret, and self-loathing and tell the devil YOU CANNOT STEAL MY JOY I AM GOD’S CHILD! And “JOY” is exactly what God wants you to have! He has a way of pulling us out of those tough hardships and when we look back of who we were versus who we are now, you will be thankful for the storm because you wouldn’t have grown to the person you are becoming! So dry your tears when you “fall” and take God’s hand for He is our comfort!
