The Blessing in Waiting

John 14:29 “I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.”

What an awesome day it is! I started to think about this one particular situation that I have been constantly praying about for some time now. There have been days that I have cried about it and nights that I have worried my head off to try to fix the problem. You see, I tried to rush His will by stepping ahead of Him and when that did not work I started to bargain with Him by trying to name a cost of a deal that would allow this particular problem to be solved. [And of course, God does not answer when your mind is in that state for it says in Matthew 4:7  says, “Jesus said to him, On the other hand, it is written also, You shall not tempt, test thoroughly, or try exceedingly the Lord your God.” ] So my next step was to blame God because I felt I was doing everything possible (even righteous enough) and was still not seeing my prayers manifesting. However, after a couple weeks of truly opening my heart to God and allowing Him access into my life, the Lord revealed this to me which settled within my spirit:

He took me back to this day over 2,000 years ago, after He died on the cross on the second day, when it was silent.  His disciples woke up that day searching for Jesus because they knew the plans that He had told them, but as the day went on and there were no results occurring in front of their eyes to prove He was still alive I could only imagine what they were thinking: “I thought He said….,” “He promised that…,” “What happen, I just don’t understand why He is not here!” But the lesson inside that moment was their waiting period; Jesus had promise that He would be back and on that second day His people had to remember that His word was and is still true. They had to be patient enough to wait for the harvesting from the seed that was previously planted.

The same is true for today, no matter what your circumstances are or what they look like, learn to be patience and WAIT on whatever Jesus has promised you. Jesus promised His people that He was coming back and they couldn’t let what they saw on that day, erase what they knew in their hearts to be true. Don’t let your external vision alter your internal vision. What God has for you, is for you and no person, place, or thing can change that. Remember that He is still in control of all things and if you abide in Him, He will stand by His word and follow through with what He has promised.

John 14:1,27 “Let not you hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives.”
