Spiritual World War

Marvin Gaye said it best when he said “What’s going On?”
That’s the question we are now asking ourselves everyday when we watch the world news of children in Somalia being kidnapped and recruited to become soldiers, continual fights in Afghanistan and Sudan; and destruction is not only happening around the world but within our homes. Parents killing children, infidelity within marriages, role reversal of a child and a parent, there is a constant battle going on and the devil continues to show that he is busy. But the biggest war that remains in this world is the one within our own mind.
John Milton said, “The mind is its own place and in itself can make a heaven of hell; a hell of heaven.”

Very profound words, yet it shows that no matter your race our mind can send us on a slippery slope towards depression, suicidal thoughts, self-doubt, trapped feelings of our self worth and self image. If we place all of those negative words into a kaleidoscope it will produce a pattern of what we call Spiritual Warfare. The wonderful thing about a kaleidoscope if you look at is definition it says it is: A constantly changing pattern or sequence of objects or elements. God has the power of changing your situation during those sequence of events you feel that just keep piling on in your life and around you. He has given us the freedom of Choice and Acceptance. We can choose to let the devil come in and tell us negative thoughts of discouragement, doubt, and continue to fester that into our lives or we can accept Gods promises of I am more than a conqueror! So how does one break free from this battle? You have fought the good fight and now you have become weary. When does this battle end?
“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” (2 Corinithians 10:3-5 NLT)

Through the power of prayer, fasting, studying His Word both day and night and giving your cares to God is our continual weapon of resisting the devils’ tactics. When you choose to accept these things, there lies our peace, joy, and blueprint of how to control and resist those negative thoughts that try to destroy you.
