A NEW YOU

When you start seeking the kingdom of God first, things begin to change. Your attitude towards the person you used to be change, Your attitude towards the type of friendships you used to value change; At this point the person you used to be is at odds with the person you have become because it doesn’t understand you. The friends you once valued become frienemies because they don’t understand why you don’t engage in activities you once lead. You start lose friends, family and sometimes you lose yourself but that is because the old you is dying away. Ephesians 2:4 reads, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy. Made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been saved.” When all this happens, this is when you die to yourself and become new in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 also says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation: The old has gone the new has come.” This can also be a very lonely time. You’re probably thinking  “Lord I have given my life to you, I delight myself in you, I have died to myself but I have lost all my friends, my family don’t understand me and my enemies call me fake, why lord?” Sometimes you have to leave a crowd in order to hear yourself think clearly and sometimes you need to step away from a situation in order to make an effective decision. Likewise, sometimes God has to remove all distractions from your life to get you to himself. And he will remove anything and anyone who is not conducive to his will. At times, You will feel a void inside yourself. When you try to fill that void with a person, thing, or idea, you will never have true peace. You will continuously search for something to fill it and may even want to go back to the old ways to feel comfortable again. The enemy wants you to believe that becoming one in Christ means to lose everything and end up alone. He wants you to believe that so it will be easy to tempt you to run back. But we must remember the enemy comes only to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. That void in you was created so that it could be filled by the only person who can fill it, God! He wants you to rely solely on him for everything. God wants us to be independent of man but dependent on him. He wants to be the first person you think of when you wake up and the last person you think of when you lay your head down. What people have to say about you will no longer affect you because “ Great peace have they who love his law, NOTHING shall offend them or make them stumble.” God knows your hearts desires even before they become thoughts in your mind. Trust him to take care of you. When you start live for him and not yourself he gives you your hearts desires so, “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you.

Be Blessed.
